FRANKLIN COUNTY, PA : I-81 reopens after deadly tractor-trailer crash in Franklin County on Thursday, 21st March 2024

One person is dead and another was flown to a trauma center after an overnight crash in Franklin County.

The incident occurred around 11:57 p.m. on March 21 on Interstate 81 northbound, according to Franklin County 911 Dispatch.

The crash occurred when the tractor-trailer rear-ended a car driving in the right lane of I-81, according to Pennsylvania State Police. After striking the car, the tractor-trailer crossed both northbound lanes and hit the metal guide wire in the center grass median. When the car stopped, it was facing south in the northbound lanes of I-81, troopers said.
