Maryland State Police ruled Saturday that a man whose body was found Friday in a rural part of Carroll County was murdered.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore have determined that Prakash Rampatsingh, 50, of Hanover, Pa., died from a gunshot wound.
Crews working on a nearby cell tower found the body in a field near Hampstead Friday. Because of the condition of the body, police believe that Rampatsingh was killed recently.
Police said Rampatsingh property manager in Baltimore and often traveled along Falls Road, near where his body was found. State property records show Rampatsingh owns at least three homes in Baltimore City. No vehicle or weapons were found near his body, police said. Officers are contacting Rampatsigh's friends and family to determine when he was last seen alive.
