Two have passed away after a serious morning crash on Interstate 435 westbound at state line road.

The Kansas City police were dispatched to the area around 5 a.m. Friday morning. Police found a red Nissan Versa stopped in the second lane, east of 103rd Street, for an unknown reason.

The Nissan was rear-ended by a white, KCFD Ford Explorer. Once the vehicles came to rest, the Nissan was struck again by a white Freightliner truck, also traveling eastbound on I-435.

There were three occupants in the Nissan at the time of the crash. The passenger in the backseat was pronounced dead at the scene and the front passenger was rushed to a local hospital where he later died.
