COLUMBIA, SC : 1 person dead after RCSD chase ends in crash on Wednesday, 21st February 2024

The South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) reported one person is dead and another is injured following a chase with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department (RCSD) that ended in a crash.

The crash happened on Thursday shortly after midnight at the intersection of Legrand Road and Edgewater Drive.

Troopers said a Nissan SUV with two people in it was traveling west when they struck a ditch and overturned near the intersection of Edgewater Drive.

According to RCSD, deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop when they noticed the vehicle was speeding.
