Auburn, IN : A 28-year-old man is dead in a car accident at DeKalb County On Saturday, July 9th, 2016
A 28-year-old man is dead and his friend is in jail for leaving the scene of a wreck after an early Saturday morning crash along a DeKalb County area road.
Dustin Reith was a passenger inside a fast moving 2005 Chevrolet Silverado when its driver, 31-year-old Benjamin W. Baker, lost control of the vehicle while going north on Indiana 1 just north of Spencerville sometime around
2:30 a.m., according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department.
The vehicle hit a guardrail and Reith was thrown from the truck and pronounced dead at the scene.
Police arrested Baker at his home in Spencerville and charged him with leaving the scene of a vehicle accident resulting in death and criminal recklessness.
