Beaumont, TX : Three vehicle rear-end collision on I-10 after fatal motorcycle accident on Sunday, 6th November 2016
Three vehicles collided in slow moving traffic after a fatal motorcycle accident on I-10 on Sunday, Nov. 6.
The Texas Department of Public Safety received a report of a three vehicle crash on Interstate 10 at approximately 2:40p.m., 20 minutes after the previous accident. The crash occurred in the eastbound traffic lanes near Taylor's Bayou.
A Nissan was traveling eastbound in the outside lane of Interstate 10. A Mercedes was also eastbound traveling behind the Nissan, and a Jeep Cherokee was traveling eastbound in the inside lane of the Interstate. Eastbound traffic was moving slow due to the fatal crash that occurred about 20 minutes earlier. The driver of the Jeep noticed the slow moving traffic and veered into the right lane between the Nissan and the Mercedes. This action caused the Mercedes to collide with the Jeep and the Jeep then rear-ended the Nissan.
The driver of the Nissan, 23-year-old Lydia Hansen of Louisiana, was transported by ambulance to St. Elizabeth's hospital in Beaumont. Her injuries did not appear to be life threatening.
