Benton,ME : Woman died in interstate crash in Benton on may, Monday 15th 2017

An 80-year-old Portland woman died Monday when her car struck a ledge along Interstate 95 in Benton, according to state police.

Mary Ricci’s car veered off the interstate near mile 136 around 5:30 p.m., hit the ledge and went airborne, according to Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland. The car overturned three times before landing on its roof.

Ricci was declared dead at the scene. Police are working to determine the cause of the crash.
