Orlando, FL : Motorcyclist dead in Orange County crash on Friday, December 30, 2016

A motorcyclist is dead after crashing in Orange County Friday, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The 27-year-old man, who was not named, was heading west on Sand Lake Road about 5:15 p.m. when a car pulled out in front of him, investigators said.

The eastbound Mercedes-Benz, driven by Brian Mitnik, 60, was attempting to turn left onto Southland Boulevard, said Sgt. Kim Montes, an agency spokeswoman.

The motorcyclist crashed into the side of Mitnik's car, then slid under the vehicle. He was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Mitnik was uninjured.

The intersection is a block away from Orange Blossom Trail, near The Florida Mall.
