HONOLULU, HI : 36-year-old pedestrian in critical condition following hit-and-run in Kalihi on Friday, 23rd February 2024

Honolulu detectives are investigating a hit and run that left a 36-year-old man in critical condition in Kalihi on Friday.

Police say around 7 p.m., the victim was walking in a marked crosswalk against a “Do Not Walk” signal on Waiakamilo Road when a car, apparently speeding, hit him.

Officials say the unidentified motorist briefly stopped before continuing to travel southbound on Waiakamilo Road without stopping to help or provide information.

The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he remains this morning, officials said.
