Kansas City, KS : A man was killed Thursday morning in a rollover crash in Kansas City on May 22, 2014

A 51-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man was killed early Thursday after he was ejected from his SUV during a rollover crash.

Erwin Potts was headed north on Interstate 635 about 5:10 a.m. when a tire came off his SUV near Parallel Avenue, according to a preliminary crash report from the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Potts lost control of the SUV, which ran off the right side of the road into a ditch. It overturned and ejected Potts, according to the crash report.

Potts, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at a hospital.
