Hebron, KY : Two killed, two hurt in a single vehicle crash in northern Kentucky on Saturday, October 22, 2016
Two people are dead and two others hurt following a single vehicle crash in northern Kentucky.
It happened around 10:15 p.m. Saturday, on North Bend Road near River Road.
The Boone County Sheriff's Office said Rama Varahabhatla, 35, of Louisville, KY, lost control on a curve and went off the road. The vehicle went airborne before striking a tree in a nearby embankment.
Varahabhatla and two of his passengers were trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by Hebron Fire and EMS crews.
The front passenger, Raja Sakar Reddy Yarmala, 25, of Louisville, KY, was flown to UC Medical Center, where he died early Sunday morning.
One of the rear passengers, Benkat Prashant Kommu, 27, of Louisville, KY, was thrown from the vehicle during the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other rear passenger, Anvesh Kumar, 24, of Louisville, KY, was taken to UC Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Varahabhatla was taken to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital Florence with non-life threatening injuries.
Officials said no charges have been filed against the driver, who is cooperating with the investigation.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
