Monroe, LA : Jonesboro man dies in wreck, north of the Jackson Parish line on Tuesday morning, May 17, 2016
A Jonesboro man died Tuesday morning after the vehicle he was driving side-swiped another vehicle on LA-34.
Shortly after 8 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop F troopers responded to a fatal wreck just north of the Jackson Parish line.
The initial investigation revealed a 1996 Toyota 4-Runner, driven by 41-year-old Rocky Parker of Jonesboro, was traveling west on LA-34. The vehicle Parker was driving crossed the center line and side-swiped an eastbound 2007 Ford F-250, driven by 57-year-old Frank Watkins of Jonesboro.
After impact, the 4-Runner continued west and began to rollover. Parker, who was properly restrained, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ouachita Parish Coroner’s Office.
Toxicology samples were obtained and submitted for analysis. The crash remains under investigation.
