Fort Worth, TX : Man in critical condition after a car crash on Texas 360 near Trinity Boulevard on Tuesday morning, September 27, 2016

One person was reported in critical condition Tuesday morning after an early morning crash between a car and an 18-wheeler on Texas 360 near Trinity Boulevard.

MedStar spokesman Matt Zavadsky said the call came in at 3:25 a.m. Emergency officials extracted a man from the car and took him to John Peter Smith Hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.

The man was driving a Ford Focus northbound in the 4500 block of Texas 360 when it slammed into the back of the 18-wheeler, became lodged underneath the trailer and was dragged to the shoulder, said Sgt. Marc Povero, a Fort Worth police spokesman.

Northbound Texas 360 was shut down while police investigated.
