"When we arrived, the EMTs requested a helicopter because of [the motorcyclist’s] leg injuries," he said.

Callahan said the crew was dispatched to the scene around 11:01 a.m. and were there until at least 12:56 p.m.

"We shut down Route 51 while loading the patient," he said.

The patient was transported via MOVAC ambulance to the Cedarville Fire Department where the Mercy Flight helicopter had clearance to land. The patient was flown to SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse where he was to be treated for his injuries.

The patient’s status at the hospital couldn’t be determined.

It was unclear whether any tickets were issued.
