Erwin,NC : 2 college students killed in North Carolina crash on September, Wednesday 6th 2017

The North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating after two students were killed near Campbell University in what may have been a weather-related crash.

Campbell University officials say in a statement they were notified by the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office that the car accident happened around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday and that two students died as a result.

The University says it will release the names of the students once their families have been notified.

Local news outlets report the crash happened on U.S. Route 421, southeast of the Buies Creek campus. It was raining heavily at the time of the crash.
