WYANDOTTE COUNTY, KS : Kansas man dies after crash on Turnpike on Sunday, 7th May 2023

A Kansas City, Kansas man has died on after crashing into a truck on the turnpike.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said that shortly after 7 a.m. 38-year-old Michael Gaskin was driving erratically on I-70 heading west when he lost control of his Mercedes-Benz S-Class and crashed into a truck. Gaskin spun and hit the median barrier. The truck lost control after being hit and crashed into the median barrier and the Mercedes causing it to roll on top of the wall. A third car was involved but wasn't hit.

Gaskin was taken to KU Med were he later passed away. The driver of the truck was uninjured.

The investigation is ongoing.
