Baton Rouge, LA : 2 dead and toddler among injured 3 injured after police chase results in tragic crash on Monday, 26th October, 2020

A police chase that stretched through four parishes ended with a crash that killed two young people and injured three others, including a 2-year-old being babysat by one of three teenagers in a fleeing stolen car.

The Monday night crash near the intersection of Old Rafe Meyer Road and Scenic Highway killed the driver of the stolen car and killed a New Roads man driving a vehicle that was struck head-on.

Law enforcement began chasing a Chevrolet Camaro in New Roads after determining that it had been stolen, Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff Rene Thibodeaux said Tuesday. The chase ended about 30 miles away, when the Camaro veered through a median on U.S. 61, Scenic Highway, and struck a Ford Mustang head-on, killing its driver, Thibodeaux said.
