1 Dead After Motorcycle Accident in Grand Junction Colorado
One person is dead after a motorcycle accident Saturday morning. The crash closed the entire road for several hours. The incident happened at around 8:15 am at Elm and 28 Road.Authorities with the Grand Junction Police Department say a man on a motorcycle headed eastbound on Elm Avenue failed to yield as he reached 28 Road, and then struck the side of a pick-up truck that was headed southbound on 28 Road.The male driver of the motorcycle, whose identity has not yet been released, was pronounced deceased at the scene.Sgt. Dave Stassen with GJPD, said, "No alcohol, no drugs to our knowledge right now, pending an autopsy, but we are looking at speed as a significant factor in this crash."The driver of the truck was uninjured.The intersection of 28 Road and Elm was shut down until about noon for accident clean-up and investigation.
