A 27-year old woman was killed Friday in a crash with a tractor-trailer on Interstate 76 near the Brimfield exit.
Chelsea Riley of Creston died after her vehicle rear-ended the semi.
Alcohol use is suspected, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
According to the patrol, at about 12:50 p.m., Riley's 2009 Toyota Corolla rear-ended a 1998 Peterbuilt semi driven by 58-year-old Curtis Gibbs Jr. of Warren.
Both were traveling east on I-76, with the crash occurring near milepost 34.Riley was not wearing a seatbelt and was transported to Akron City Hospital, where she was pronounced dead Friday afternoon.
Gibbs, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured and was able to drive the truck away after being checked by paramedics. The Toyota was towed away from the scene.
Traffic was reportedly backed up for miles from the scene as police cleared the area. The on-ramps to I-76 in Brimfield were closed but were opened again by Friday evening.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ravenna Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
