Walnut Creek,CA : Motorcyclist seriously injured in Discovery Bay accident on August, Friday 11th 2017

A motorcyclist suffered severe injuries Friday night in an accident on Highway 4, authorities said.

The unidentified rider was flown in a helicopter to a John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek shortly after the accident, Battalion Chief Jake Gonzalez of the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District said in a statement issued Saturday morning.

The accident was first reported at 7:27 p.m., a California Highway Patrol officer said.

Officers found a Honda Shadow motorcycle five feet down an embankment along the highway’s eastbound lanes east of Discovery Bay Boulevard near the Old River Bridge, CHP Officer Damian Cistaro said Saturday morning.

Neither the name of the injured rider nor that person’s current condition was released. Cistaro said no other vehicles were involved.
