Driver injured when car crashes into Hillsboro apartment building

A driver was injured when his car crashed into an apartment building in Hillsboro early Thursday morning, firefighters said.

The car crashed into a balcony support post near N.W. Cornell Road and John Olsen Avenue, according to Hillsboro Fire spokesman Bruce Montgomery. It happened around 5:20 a.m.

Firefighters had to cut part of the car to get the driver out, Montgomery said. His injuries were not life-threatening. Medics took the man to a hospital.

Montgomery said there was no structural damage to the apartment building. No one inside the building was hurt.

It’s unclear what caused the crash.
