Stanwood, WA : Mount Vernon man airlifted to hospital after crash on Camano on Tuesday, September 19th 2017
A 73-year-old Mount Vernon man was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after his car hit a tree Tuesday on Camano Island.
Harold J. Becker was southbound on SE Camano Drive between Driftwood Shores and Cavalero Road when his 1996 Buick Century sedan and utility trailer it was towing veered across the centerline and continued down an embankment into a tree, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The vehicle and trailer were destroyed in the crash, WSP officers said.
Becker was the only occupant, and he was wearing a seat belt, according to the WSP. The extent of his injuries were not immediately available Wednesday afternoon.
The road was closed for several hours, and the cause remains under investigation.
