Pensacola,FL : No injuries after truck hits ECSD school bus in McDavid on December, Thursday 7th 2017
No students were injured Thursday morning when a pick-up truck struck a school bus in McDavid.
Seven students were on the Escambia County School District bus at the time of the crash, and none of them were hurt, according to a news release from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The students were from Ernest Ward Middle School in Walnut Hill and Northview High School in Century, according to ECSD Superintendent Malcolm Thomas.
The crash happened as both the school bus and a 2002 Toyota Tacoma negotiated a curve at the same time.
Paul Cornelius Ryals, 47, of McDavid, was driving the pick-up truck south on South Pineville Road, south of Ryals Lane as the school bus was heading west on South Pineville approaching Ryals.
Authorities said Ryals failed to maintain his lane and drove into the opposite lane of traffic, striking the front of the school bus.
Neither he nor the driver of the school bus were injured.
Ryals faces charges for failing to maintain his lane, the release states.
