Jackson, MS : Dead man dropped off at UMMC after being hit by car on Wednesday, December 7, 2016

JPD is investigating after a dead man was dropped off at UMMC.

Just after 3:00 p.m., officers responded to UMMC after a man was dropped off at the emergency room by two unidentified women in a light colored Chevy Impala.

The victim, a man in his 50’s, had apparent injuries and trauma to his body. He was pronounced dead upon arrival.

According to police, the unidentified victim was hit by a car at Boling Street and Bullard Street. The driver was questioned, but no charges have been filed at this time and the accident is under investigation.

Police say the women left the scene and were later questioned by officers. The car has also been located.

It's being investigated as a death investigation.

It is unknown at this time what caused his injuries or what the exact cause of death is at this time. The investigation is ongoing pending the results of an autopsy and evidence gathered by investigators.
