HATTIESBURG, MS : Pedestrian struck, killed in Forrest County on Monday, November 14th 2016

A woman was struck and killed by a vehicle on Highway 49 Monday evening in the Hub City.

According to Forrest County Deputy Coroner Lisa Klem, the female, whose name is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman was struck on the northbound side of Highway 49, just north of Taylor Road around 6 p.m.

The motorist involved did stop at the scene and was interviewed by authorities, but at this time no charges have been filed.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation according to Hattiesburg police.
