Oklahoma City, OK : Five people minor injuries when a car crashed under a trailer in southwest Oklahoma Friday, February 17, 2017
In what was described by a fire department spokesman as a “horrible” accident, the Oklahoma City Fire Department reported that all five occupants inside a vehicle that ran under a parked trailer survived without serious injury.
Battalion Chief Benny Fulkerson said the wreck happened about 9:20 a.m. Friday near SW 29 and Woodward Avenue. A car went underneath the trailer and five people, including three children, were trapped in the car.
Fulkerson said at least one person had to be extricated and all five were taken to a local hospital for “what appeared to be minor injuries.”
Oklahoma City officer Travis Vernier reported the driver of the car said she was traveling west on SW 29 when a vehicle stopped in front of her and she tried to brake. The car brakes failed and the car swerved off the road to the left and hit the parked trailer, Vernier said.
“Our intent for posting this was to simply remind people to please be very careful. Accidents can happen so quickly. Thankfully nobody was seriously injured in this accident,” Fulkerson said.
