Rayne Township, PA : Two people injured in ATV accident in a wooded area near Ernest Hall Road on Tuesday, June 21, 2016
Two people were injured just after 9 p.m. Tuesday when an all-terrain vehicle wrecked in a wooded area near Ernest Hall Road, between Ernest and Creekside, emergency officials said.
A man who had been driving the ATV suffered severe facial injuries and was transported by medical helicopter to Forbes Regional Hospital for treatment, according to Chief Peter Yacovone, of the Creekside Volunteer Fire Company.
A passenger, a juvenile girl, suffered only bumps and bruises, Yacovone said. He said he did not know the patients’ names.
The fire department was dispatched shortly before 10 p.m. to mark a landing zone for the medical helicopter. Citizens’ Ambulance Service responded to treat the injured at the scene.
State police troopers responded and, along with firefighters, helped to recover the wrecked ATV from the woods.
Troopers conducted no investigation and released no information because the accident took place on private property, a state police spokesman said.
