DURANGO, IA : Authorities ID man killed, man injured in tractor accident in Dubuque County on Monday, January 2nd 2017

Authorities have released the names of the man killed and another man who was injured in a farm accident Monday afternoon in Dubuque County.

Cletus Klein, 84, of Durango, was the man pronounced dead at the scene, according to a press release issued Tuesday afternoon by the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Department.

Randy Klein, 53, also of Durango, was transported to a Dubuque hospital before being transferred to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for additional treatment, according to the release. A hospital spokesman said he could not provide a condition update on Randy Klein.

Authorities responded to 19998 Hochrein Road in the Durango area at about 2:10 p.m. Monday after receiving a call reporting that two men had been run over by a tractor. Online records state that property is owned by Cletus and Lois Klein.

The release states a tractor the men were working on slipped into gear and ran them over.
