Stanton, DE : Two people injured, racing fuel leaked in 4-vehicle crash on I-95 north of the Churchman's Road off-ramp on Wednesday, Sep 30, 2015
Delaware State Police say two people were hurt and an unknown amount of racing fuel was leaked when four vehicles crashed on Interstate 95 in Stanton.
It happened shortly after 8 a.m. Wednesday north of the Churchman's Road off-ramp. Troopers say a Ford Transit driven by 24-year-old Gerald Nichols of Wilmington hit the side of a minivan driven by 51-year-old Shawn Johns of Wilmington.
Police say the minivan hit the fuel valves of a tractor and tank trailer and an SUV. The tanker truck leaked an unknown amount of racing fuel and traveled about ¼ mile before stopping on the shoulder.
Nichols and Johns were taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening. Troopers cited Nicholas for making an unsafe lane change.
