Baton Rouge, LA : Two New Orleans residents died in a wreck on Interstate 55 just north of the Tickfaw exit on Saturday, 25th April, 2020
Two New Orleans residents died Saturday as a result of a wreck shortly before 8:30 a.m. on Interstate 55 just north of the Tickfaw exit.
Troop L identified the deceased as driver Eunique Ebbs, 45, and front seat passenger Shaique G.M. Andrews, 23.
A rear seat passenger in Ebb's Honda Civic sustained serious injuries, troopers said. Both traveling north, the Civic was in the right lane and a GMC Sierra pickup was in the left lane when, for unknown reasons, they hit each other and both went off the road striking trees. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured. Ebbs, Andrews and the rear passenger were taken to a nearby hospital, where Ebbs and Andrews died from their injuries. At the time of the wreck, Ebbs was wearing a seat belt, but Andrews and the rear passenger were not wearing their seat belt, troopers said. The driver of the GMC pickup truck was wearing a seat belt. State police said any charges that might result from the ongoing investigation will be forwarded to the Tangipahoa Parish District Attorney’s Office.
