Hampshire, TN : Three injured, including teen, in head-on crash in Maury County Monday morning on September 15, 2014
A teenager was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville following a head-on collision in Maury County Monday morning.
The wreck happened just after 8 a.m. on Hampshire Pike at Old State Road in Hampshire, 15 miles west of Columbia.
Officials stated 18-year-old Shayla Yeager was driving down Hampshire Pike on her way to Hampshire Unit School where she is a senior.
Once she reached the intersection of Old State Road, she began turning left but failed to see a second car approaching.
The traffic report states Yeager then slammed into the other car head-on, sending it down a steep embankment and into a creek.
Yeager's vehicle spun around and came to rest in the roadway.
Monday afternoon the teen was listed in stable condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The driver and passenger of the second car, Phillip and Janet Griffith, both in their 60s, were injured and transported to Maury Regional Medical Center with non-critical injuries.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol said no charges are expected.
