Vance County Schools says 10 high school students complained of injuries after their school bus crashed head-on with a car in Tuesday's snowy conditions.
The school system had just released high school students at 11:30 a.m. when a car ran into the front of a bus around 12:02 p.m. on N.C. 39 near Vicksboro Road in Henderson.
Police said the driver of the car, 18-year-old Colten West, was traveling south when he hit a slick spot on the roadway and collided with the school bus, which was traveling north.
The bus was coming from Southern Vance High School in route to Henderson Middle School to pick up more students, the school system said.
Vance County Schools spokeswoman Terri Hedrick said 10 students on board the bus at the time of the collision complained of injuries. All 10 were transported to a local hospital.
Their conditions, as well as the condition of West are not known, although police said their were no serious injuries.
Police said West was not cited in the crash.
