FAYETTE COUNTY, WV : Southbound lanes of West Virginia Turnpike reopen after tractor-trailer crash on Thursday, 28th September 2023

Northbound lanes of the West Virginia turnpike are still closed as of 11:30 p.m. Thursday following a tractor-trailer wreck at mile marker 62 near the Mossy exit this morning.
The West Virginia Department of Transportation previously announced the lanes would be open at 9 p.m., however, West Virginia State Police said that northbound lanes are still closed as cleanup efforts continue.
State transportation officials said a northbound truck carrying ammonium crashed on the turnpike this morning and emergency crews worked throughout the day to prevent materials from entering Paint Creek.
