Two people are dead and a third person is seriously injured after a crash Thursday in east Orange County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Troopers said the driver of a Ford SUV lost control on Fort Christmas Road, near Lake Pickett Road. The vehicle went off the road, struck a tree and a fence.

The driver and a passenger, both 20-years-old, were pronounced dead at the scene. A third person, Omokolap Hunpatin, 20, was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Fort Christmas Road was shut down for hours Thursday morning while troopers investigated.
