A man was taken to the hospital on Wednesday with possibly serious injuries after a one-car crash in Millersville.

The Anne Arundel County Fire Department said firefighters responded to a call of an accident on Interstate 97 in the area of Brightview Drive just after 5:30 a.m.

The department said it was a single-vehicle accident and a 34-year-old driver was trapped inside his car.

After freeing the man, the department said he was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center to be treated for possible serious injuries.

No one else was involved in the crash, the department said.
