MIDDLEBURY, IN : Middlebury bicyclist killed in early morning crash on Friday, 16th March 2018

A Middlebury man riding his bicycle along Ind. 13 was killed shortly before 4 a.m. today when he was struck by a truck.

Killed in the crash was Freeman Miller, 57.

According to Elkhart County police, Miller was riding his bicycle north on Ind. 13, south of C.R. 20, when he was struck from behind by a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado. The Silverado was driven by Derek Flynn, 28, Syracuse. Flynn was not injured.

Investigators said that Miller was wearing a reflective vest and had lights affixed to his bicycle.

Police are continuing their investigation.
