Teenager Killed In Car-Pedestrian Accident

The investigation into the death of Chance Geery, 18, the Hellgate High School Student who was killed after being struck by a vehicle Monday afternoon, April 1, has revealed new details.“It appears at this point from the information we’ve gathered thus far, that the victim was walking on the sidewalk along Mullan Road at the time of the accident,” said Detective Sergeant Travis Welsh of the Missoula Police Department. “He was accompanied by a companion. The vehicle left the roadway,” Welsh continued, “and struck the deceased male apparently on the sidewalk before coming to a stop.”
Welsh said “the adult female driving the vehicle stopped right away and waited for responding emergency units, and thus far has cooperated with our investigation.”No charges have yet been filed, but Welsh said the investigation is ongoing.
