Conyers, GA : Driver dead after wreck on I-20 in Conyers on Saturday, 1st February, 2020

A driver died Saturday after a car drove over the guardrail to I-20 and smashed into her vehicle, officials said.
Joyce Polk, 52, of Covington, was declared dead at the scene of the wreck, according to the Georgia State Patrol.Polk was driving a Toyota Camry in the right lane of I-20 east in Conyers about 1:20 p.m., officials said. Darrel Pickett, 40, was nearby driving a Nissan Rogue on Royal Drive, GSP said. Investigators said Picket did not stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Royal and Iris drives. He then drove over a fence and guardrail onto I-20, according to GSP. Pickett’s Nissan smashed into the right side of Polk’s Toyota, officials said. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where his condition is not known. No one has been charged in the case, but officials said charges are possible. An investigation is ongoing.
