Quincy,IL : Three injured in crash west of Lakenan on June, Tuesday 27th 2017

Three people were injured in a Tuesday night crash west of Lakenan.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a 2000 Sterling spray truck driven by Hurley E. Schwieter, 76, of Shelbyville, pullled out of a driveway along westbound U.S. 36,, eight-tenths of a mile west of Lakenan, at 5:45 p.m. and was struck in the rear by a westbound 2008 Toyota Rav4 driven by Kristin J. Lyon, 36, of Lawrence, Kan.

Lyon was transported by Survival Flight to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries. A passenger in her vehicle, her 2-year-old son Bennett P. Lyon, of Lawrence, and Schwieter were transported by Monroe City Ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital with moderate injuries.

The patrol said all three were wearing seat belts.

The patrol was assisted by the Monroe City Police Department, Shelby County Sheriff's Department, Shelbina Fire Department and First Responders.
