A Monroeville woman has died from a three-vehicle crash involving a Monroeville police officer en route to assist a colleague in an arrest.
Priscilla Robinson, 50, died about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.
Robinson was leaving the Holiday Center, near the 3700 block of William Penn Highway, shortly after noon Monday when her car and a police SUV driven by a Monroeville officer collided, Monroeville police Chief Doug Cole said. One or both of their vehicles then crashed into a third car, Cole said.
Cole said the officer was on his way to assist a colleague who was pursuing a suspected stolen vehicle. Cole declined to give the officer's name, but he said he is on administrative leave.
Robinson was admitted to Forbes Regional Hospital. The other two drivers were treated and released.
Allegheny County police are handling the investigation. County police Lt. Andrew Schurman declined to discuss whether either of the other two drivers may face charges.
