Winchester, CA : 4 die in Riverside crashes in the unincorporated Winchester area near Hemet on Sunday, 26th January, 2020
One of the two people killed in a head-on crash in the unincorporated Winchester area near Hemet was a resident of that community, authorities said Sunday.
Eva Barro was 56, according to the Riverside County coroner’s office. Jesus Giron Araiza, 23, was a resident of Mexico. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
The two-car crash occurred on Winchester Road, north of Scott Road, about 1:05 a.m. Friday, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Details of what led up to the crash were not available.
Separately, the coroner’s office named two people killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Canyon Lake near Menifee. Both were women from Lake Elsinore.
Tina Slatten was 58, and was pronounced dead at 11:48 p.m. Friday at Riverside University Health Systems Medical Center, according to the office.
Benita Heyden, 57, was pronounced dead at the scene, the coroner said.
