Train crashes into truck, shuts down intersection

A driver of a big rig reportedly ignored signs warning large trucks not to travel over a railroad crossing at Highway 61 and Cheeves Street in Villa Rica Tuesday morning.

That truck got stuck on the tracks and crews were not able to move it before the next train came through. The train was not able to stop in time and slammed into the tractor trailer.

Villa Rica police shut down the intersection for several hours, but it is now re-open. The police chief called the scene is "a mess."

No injuries were reported.
