State College, PA : Two people injured in a two-vehicle crash in College Township on Friday, November 11, 2016

Two people were reported injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday in College Township.

According to State College police, at about 5:45 a.m., Gulshan Choudhary, 61, of State College, attempted to turn left from East College Avenue on to U.S. Route 322 when he turned into the oncoming path of John Nunez, 19, of Hackensack, N.J. The traffic signal was reported to be flashing yellow for traffic on East College and red for traffic coming off 322 at the time.

The front right corner of Choudhary’s vehicle struck the front left corner of Nunez’s vehicle, police said, causing both cars to spin. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Choudhary had obvious facial injuries, police said, and both drivers were taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center.

Nunez reported that he was heading toward campus when Choudhary turned in front of him, police said. Choudhary reported that he had the green arrow when he turned left, however, police said the signals were set to flash at that time of day and were working properly at the scene.

Choudhary was cited for an improper left turn, police said.
