An Indiana County woman died Thursday when her car was struck head-on by another vehicle along Route 422 near Strongstown.
Shirley Ann Pegg, 68, of Indiana was pronounced dead at the scene of the 5:56 p.m. crash in Pine by Coroner Jerry Overman.
Cherry Tree Township and state police in Indiana are investigating why an unidentified male driver of another vehicle crossed the center line and struck Pegg's westbound car, according to Overman. Police reports on the crash were not available.
Overman said the other driver was taken by Citizens Ambulance to Indiana Regional Medical Center for treatment.
An autopsy and toxicology tests were scheduled today to determine the cause and manner of Pegg's death, Overman said. Funeral arrangements were incomplete Friday.
