Lothian, MD : Woman seriously injured in deer-involved crash on Mt. Zion Marlboro Road on Saturday afternoon, December 3, 2016
A Lothian woman was seriously injured Saturday afternoon after her car hit a deer and then a tree on Mt. Zion Marlboro Road in Lothian, Anne Arundel County police said.
Lisa Marie Scott, 44, was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore after the crash for a possible head injury. She was in stable condition, police said Saturday night.
Officers responded to the area of Mt. Zion Marlboro Road and Ed Prout Road around 3:14 p.m. for a single-vehicle crash.
An investigation found Scott was driving westbound when her 2004 Hyundai Elantra struck a deer. She then veered right and hit a tree, police said. The car subsequently rolled over.
There is no indication of excessive speed or alcohol use in the crash, which is under investigation, police said Saturday.
