Bend, OR : A 48-year-old Bend man was killed on Wednesday, December, 13th 2017
A 48-year-old Bend man was killed Wednesday morning east of Bend when he turned his van into the path of an oncoming pickup, according to the Oregon State Police.
Mark Douglas Price was driving east on U.S. Highway 20 about 9:30 a.m. when he attempted to turn onto Hamby Road, an OSP news release stated. Price’s van was struck by a pickup truck traveling west on Highway 20 driven by Michael Francis Deleone, 59, of Redmond.
Price, whose failure to yield to oncoming traffic was the contributing factor in the crash, was killed, state police said. Deleone was not injured. He cooperated with the investigation and is not suspected of any wrongdoing, state police said.
Highway 20 was shut down or limited to one lane of travel for nearly four hours, according to the state police.
