Washington State Patrol investigators seek witnesses to fatal Battle Ground crash

An 86-year-old woman died Friday after suffering injuries in a three-car crash on State Route 503 about a mile south of Battle Ground, Wash., according to state troopers.

Washington State Patrol identified the woman as Eleanor Tapani, who was a passenger in one of the cars.

Troopers said the crash occurred after 9 a.m. Thursday when Dean Imokawa, 46, was driving north, crashed into a northbound SUV and then drifted into the southbound lane, where his 2006 GMC pickup collided with a 2003 Kia Sorento.

Imokawa, the driver of the Sorento, 55-year-old Linda Dallum, and Tapani, also in the Sorento, were all injured in the crash and taken to a hospital. The driver of the SUV was not injured, troopers said.

Tapani, of Battle Ground, was pronounced dead Friday night at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, according to state patrol.
