Milwaukee, WI : Two people injured in a car crash in Madison on Tuesday afternoon, Aug 4, 2015

Two people were injured in a car crash Tuesday afternoon in Madison.

A 60-year-old Madison man was driving south on Sprecher Road when his car hit another vehicle driven by a 22-year-old Madison woman, Madison police said in an online incident report.

Witnesses told police the man was driving carelessly before striking the young woman's vehicle.

Both drivers were sent to a nearby hospital. The man likely was suffering from life-threatening injuries, police said. The woman suffered broken bones and other non life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash under investigation by the Madison Police Department.
