Seiling, OK : Mooreland man injured in crash on Highway 51 in Dewey County on Thursday evening, November 20, 2014
A Mooreland man was critically injured Thursday evening when the car he was a passenger in struck a disabled semi on the highway.
Lester Haskins, 82, was flown from the scene of the 6:51 p.m. collision at U.S. 270 and Highway 51 in Dewey County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Haskins, who suffered internal, arm and leg injuries, was admitted to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City in critical condition.
According to an OHP report, Jacob Davis, 31, of Glencoe, had been driving south on U.S. 270 in a 1990 Peterbuilt when the vehicle’s brakes seized.
Davis attempted to get off the roadway by turning left onto Oklahoma 51 but was unable to complete the turn. The vehicle becoming disabled on U.S. 270.
Dale Haskins, 68, of Woodward, was driving a 2008 GMC Yukon northbound on U.S. 270 and struck the front end of the truck’s trailer.
Dale Haskins was taken to Seiling Hospital with internal injuries and was treated and released. Lester Haskins was pinned for about 30 minutes before being freed by Seiling Fire Department.
Davis was injured.
