The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a single-car wreck in Laurens County that killed a pair of brothers, troopers said.
The crash happened on state Highway 418 near Scuffletown Road in Fountain Inn just after 10 p.m. Saturday.
The Laurens County coroner said Brent Chapman, 38, of Cheraw and Timothy Chapman, 43, of Fountain Inn died when their Chevrolet Corvette went off the road and hit a tree.
Both men were pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said. The coroner said both died of blunt-force trauma.
Troopers said Brent was thrown from the vehicle and Timothy had to be extricated.
There is no word on what caused the sports car to leave the roadway or whether either man was wearing a seat belt.
